Drawing from the brand’s extensive success in Formula 1 and other racing disciplines, the Integra Type R was developed to offer the most driver-focused experience possible. Honda’s engineers meticulously tuned nearly every aspect of the car, from the engine to the chassis to the suspension, to ensure it was capable of not just fast lap times, but also exhilarating engagement for the driver.

The heart of the Type R DC2 is the 1.8-liter B18C VTEC engine. With 197 horsepower, the power output might not seem extraordinary by today’s standards, but it was the way the Type R DC2 delivered that power - smoothly, precisely, and with a visceral intensity that made it feel more potent than its numbers suggested. The VTEC system created a surge of power above 6,000 rpm, a moment often described as a "second wind," transforming the driving experience into something thrilling as the revs climbed toward the 8,400 rpm redline.
