Fun fact: shortly after the unveiling of the production version of the FK8 Type R at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, a pre-production unit achieved a lap time of 7:43.80 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, almost 7 seconds faster than its predecessor, setting a new record for front-wheel drive cars. If one lap record wasn’t enough, the car also set new front-wheel drive lap records at a staggering 6 circuits: Magny-Cours, Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone, Estoril, Hungaroring and Mount Panorama circuits.
