The RA or ‘Record Attempt’ edition of the Spec-C (Competition) STI was equipped with a range of desirable factory upgrades focused on performance, handling, and weight reduction. These included thinner glass, a lightweight subframe, an aluminium boot lid and bonnet, and a rally-inspired fresh air vent in the roof. It also featured a 12-litre intercooler water spray kit—an iconic Subaru addition that cools the turbocharged air to enhance performance during intense driving.

True to its racing heritage, the WRX STI Spec C Type RA also features a multi-mode Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD), allowing the driver to adjust the torque split between the front and rear wheels. This helps customize the car’s handling characteristics depending on driving conditions, from tarmac to gravel or snow.

With a production run limited to just 350 examples made for the Japanese Domestic Market, this is one of the rarest WRX STI versions you can find today.
